Hello everybody,

i have two questions concerning Drosophila northern blots:

1. Has anyone ever used the Qiagen RNeasy Kit to isolate Drosophila
total RNA? When I check
the RNA on a denaturing agarose-gel i only see one very prominent band
instead of the two rRNA
bands i'm expecting? The RNA does not look degraded and works very well
for RT-PCR.
Any ideas what happend with the rRNA?

2. Has anyone ever used a DIG labeled cDNA Probe for northern blots?
If so, at which concentration did you use it and what kind of
hybridization solution did you use?

Thanks in advance, Martin
