Neurobiologists.  The new Section of Neurobiology in the reorganized School
of Biological Sciences of the University of Texas at Austin invites
applications for two faculty positions.  Applicants must have a Ph.D. or
similar degree.  Successful candidates will be expected to establish an
active research program, and to teach at both graduate and undergraduate
levels. Applications will be considered as they arrive, but should be
received by 30 November, 1998, and should include names of three references
(including email addresses and phone numbers).  The University of Texas at

Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Research.  Molecular neurobiologist to join
expanding program for alcoholism and addiction research.  Preference given
to applicants with expertise in mutant mouse (knock-in) techniques,
molecular genetics or ion channel structure and function.  Record of
outstanding research productivity and accomplishment required.

Neuronal Development or Plasticity.  Preference given to applicants using
molecular, genetic, or biophysical approaches to study neuronal development
or plasticity at the cellular or systems level.  Teaching needs are in
neurobiology or introductory biology.  Submit CV and statement of research
plans and teaching interests, and representative reprints to Dr. Klaus
Kalthoff, Neurobiology Search Committee, c/o Department of Zoology,
