There are now seven FlyBase World Wide Web server mirrors located
around the world. The newest addition to this list is at the Weizmann
Institute in Israel. The main FlyBase server continues to be located at
The mirrors, which are typically updated within 24 hours of any
updates made to the primary server, are located at:
Harvard University, USA http://flybase.harvard.edu:7081/
EBI, United Kingdom http://www.ebi.ac.uk:7081/
You will do well to use the mirror that provides the fastest
response from your location.
Note that the URL for the Harvard mirror has changed to reflect
moving it to a larger and faster server. The original Harvard mirror at
cbbridges.harvard.edu will continue to function for the remainder of
December, but in early January it will be replaced by a page with
hyperlinks to all the current mirror locations. At that point any
bookmarks you may have saved that contain FlyBase URL's at
cbbridges.harvard.edu will stop working, but the comparable bookmark at
flybase.harvard.edu will continue to work.
You can use the How To Contact FlyBase choice on the FlyBase home page at
any mirror site to make inquiries or report problems to
flybase-help at morgan.harvard.edu, or to send updates and corrections to
the information in FlyBase to flybase-updates at morgan.harvard.edu.
