Does anyone have an estimate of the halflife of for lacZ mRNA and protein in
Drosophila? In particular, the P transposase-lacZ fusion by Bier et al (Genes &
Dev. 3:1273-1287, 1989)( a nuclear protein). What I am asking is basically what
is the temporal resolution when looking at the Xgal staining pattern to deduce
the lacZ transcription timing.
Thanks in advance for any information.
