The symposium is organized by the CISB, the Interdepartmental Research Centre for Models
and Information Analysis in Biomedical Systems.
The 3rd International Symposium on Medical Data Analysis (ISMDA-2002) is the continuation of the 1st and 2nd symposia, held in Frankfurt, Germany, on 2000, and Madrid, Spain, on 2001, respectively. It aims to integrate interdisciplinary research from scientific fields such as statistics, signal processing, biomedical informatics, data mining and biometrics for biomedical data analysis. It will provide an international forum for sharing and exchanging of original research results, ideas and practical development experiences in areas related to the analysis of biomedical data and its impact in fields such as:
a.. Time series analysis
b.. Bayesian networks
c.. Neural nets
d.. Medical informatics and modeling
e.. Biologically oriented algorithms
f.. Medical data mining
g.. Clinical trials analysis
h.. Cluster analysis, state space analysis for medical applications
i.. Data analysis for image processing
j.. Innovative statistical methods
k.. Bioinformatics and genomics
l.. Medical data visualization
m.. Medical decision support systems
n.. Modeling of medical systems
o.. On-line monitoring
p.. Software tools for medical data analysis
This list is not exhaustive. Papers on all aspects of biomedical data analysis and prediction are welcome. Both research and applications papers are solicited. All submitted papers will be reviewed on the basis of technical quality, relevance, originality, significance, and clarity. Accepted papers will appear in the conference proceedings, which are planned to be published in the "Lecture notes on Computer Science" series of Springer Verlag, Heidelberg, Germany (http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/index.html)
Authors should follow Springer Verlag author guidelines as indicated on http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html
Submitted manuscripts should not exceed 8-10 printed pages, including figures and references. They will be only accepted as email attachments to : ISMDA.cisb at uniroma1.it
