As part of the merger in the UK of Seqnet and HGMP, the Biosci
news/mail gateway has now been transfered from its' old home
in Daresbury (dl.ac.uk) to its new home near Cambridge.

As of now e-mail submissions should be sent to HGMP and articles
are being sent out to the e-mail lists from HGMP. The e-mail
list handling software at HGMP is Majordomo.

In brief, if you want to join the e-mail list for the news group
"bionet.molbio.methds-reagnts" then you need to look up the e-mail
name in the FAQ, and you should get the answer "methods".

You would send a message to :-

Majordomo at hgmp.mrc.ac.uk

you can leave the Subject of the e-mail empty, but enter the message :-

subscribe methods

You will get a message back asking you to confirm this. Once you are
on the list you will receive the articles. You may send your own
articles by sending them to :-

methods at hgmp.mrc.ac.uk

When you discover that you can read the articles through the news system
and no longer want to receive the e-mails, then you should leave the list
by sending a message to :-

Majordomo at hgmp.mrc.ac.uk

with the message

unsubscribe methods

For further details about how to use the Majordomo system send a message
to Majordomo at hgmp.mrc.ac.uk with the message :-

help

You will then receive the instructions in an e-mail.
If you need help from a real person, then you can send e-mail to

biosci at hgmp.mrc.ac.uk

The details in the FAQ about where to send e-mail needs to be updated
and this should be done soon. The information about the list names
remains the same.
