2006 Workshop on Pattern Recognition in Bioinformatics (PRIB'06)

August 20, 2006

Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hong Kong

Sponsored by

The IAPR Technical Committee (TC-20) on Pattern Recognition for
Bioinformatics

Organized by

School of Computer Engineering, Nanyang Technological University,
Singapore

Computer Science and Engineering, the Pennsylvania State University, USA

Held along with the International Conference on Pattern Recognition
(ICPR'06): http://www.comp.hkbu.edu.hk/~icpr06/

The goal of the workshop is to present recent research results,
including significant work-in-progress in the areas of pattern
recognition applied to bioinformatics.

It will bring together top researchers, practitioners, and students from
around the world to discuss the applications of pattern recognition
methods in the field of bioinformatics to solve problems in life
sciences.

Topics of applications include but are not limited to: sequence
analysis, gene and protein expression data analysis, structure
prediction and folding, protein docking and drug design, metabolic
pathway analysis, medical imaging and a variety of other topics.

Pattern recognition techniques of interests include: statistical,
syntactic, and structural approaches, neural networks, fuzzy techniques,
genetic algorithms, graphical models, data mining techniques and their
hybrids.

The papers presented at the workshop will be published in the workshop
proceedings.

The papers should follow IEEE conference format, as stipulated by
ICPR'06, and not exceed 6 pages.

The IEEE conference proceeding formatting guidelines (8.5"x11") are
located here: Conference Publishing Forms

Important Dates:

Deadline for paper submission: February 7, 2006

     Author notification: March 15, 2006

     Deadline for camera-ready papers: May 1, 2006

The extended versions of the selected papers will be invited for
publication in an edited book that we plan to submit to the Imperial
College Press for publication in their "Advances in Bioinformatics and
Computational Biology" book series.
