THE POSITION:
An exciting and critical career opportunity exists 
to spearhead the development of a group which will 
manage pharmacology R&D efforts for a new "first 
in class" drug candidate (focus is new class of 
anti-inflammatory and arthritis drugs).   
This key group will interact closely and 
collaboratively with a diverse group of discovery 
scientists working towards the common goal of 
evaluating drug candidates and biologic mechanisms 
involved in disease processes.   The group will 
also participate in the use of cutting edge 
technologies including microarray gene expression 
analysis, viral gene therapy, and conditional 
knock-out mice. 

The Director of Pharmacology will be challenged 
to build and manage this group by demonstrating 
personal credibility, technical knowledge, and 
leadership skills throughout the organization.   
A "hands-on" management style of leadership 
through empowerment versus hierarchy is essential 
to success in this highly visible role.
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 
The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. or M.D. 
degree with experience in animal modeling of 
arthritis and/or inflammation.  Excellent 
scientific, interpersonal and communication 
skills are required.  Any supervisory 
experience is a plus, though not a requisite.  
Industry experience is a must.
