For any of you who have been following the stream of anti-Shimadzu
messages, all originating from the same non-trustworthy, and
out-for-revenge source, here's an interesting tidbit for you:
It's obviously assumed that these postings are done to discourage sales
of their products and services, but a colleague of mine who uses their
spectrometer equipment in his lab mentioned to me that on more than one
occasionan, they've actually GAINED sales due to his rantings.
Apparently, customers unfamiliar with Shimadzu read his messages, and
decided to look into the company. And, a sale resulted from these
transactions.
