MEASURING CELL AND BACTERIA RESPIRATION
We have performed successful experiments measuring cell culture oxygen
consumption and CO2 production during growth phase over 24 h. using O2/CO2
Respirometer. Measurements are performed not by DO ( Dissolved Oxygen Probe)
but in the gaseous head space. Results were
reasonably accurate with sample size 180,000 cells , while noise level of
measurement expressed by minimum number of measurable cells was approximately
10,000 cells.
Certainly measuring larger samples will improve accuracy of measurements.
If you are interested in more details and instrumentation used, please e-mail (
reply) your request to me with your postal address. I will send you description
of experiment and Respirometer.
