What do you think about plants ? (carbon based, dna - conscious ?) If the answer is complexity, then you have to determine the threshold (single cell organism, social behaviour...) Whats about Markowitch ideas - if we can control not self conscious things (like silicium based chips) isnt it the same like extending and dissociating the own brain ? H.
