Hi
Can anyone help to identify the tiny objects adhered to the hairs of a
fly's leg shown in the field emission microscope image accessible from
http://www.microscopy-uk.org.uk/mag/indexmag.html
The image was sent by a UK university microscopist. The objects are
structured, spherical and 0.5 micrometre in diameter. The objects seem
somewhat small for the commoner members of categories such as pollen
grains, eggs, fungal spores, diatoms and non biological particles.
Micscape Magazine, where these images are displayed, is a monthly web
magazine exploring the 'miniature world' (compiled by volunteers). The
Contents of the latest January issue are below if of interest.
Thanks for your time.
