Sven: I think that most of working in these dry environments assume that
the green strip along highways is simply a result of our limited rainfall
being concentrated along the edge of the road by runoff from the hard
surface. We use the same idea in building water catchments to
concentrate rainfall into tanks for wildlife and livestock water.
