Killing our Symbol of PEACE .. The Dove..
Do you realize that many states have passed laws re-classifying the Dove from a Song Bird to a game bird. Ohio is one of them.
Since acient times the Dove has been thought of as a symbol of Peace. If you are religious then you will be aware that Noah was given a sign from God through a Dove. A Dove returning with an olive branch indicating that land was near.
In many peace signs and banners the Dove has been used.
NOW some politician has allowed this symbol of Peace to fall pray to the rifle.
Did you know that when the Dove selects a mate that the selection is made for life. Yes it is true, so if you kill one Dove you in effect have killed two.
These birds do not harm anyone. They do not even provide enough meat for a meal. They will just sit there and be the proverbial sitting duck. All it would take is to contact you senator or represenative or 1-800-868-DOVE (1-800-868-3683) and insist to change the classification of the Dove back to a Song Bird.
