I think you may have missed the central point.  This thread is focusing on
finding better ways of helping students.  One of my own goals is find ways
to minimize derisive responses to student questions -- responses that do
not advance the cause of science, or the student's education. 

Does your response mean that you believe that the current situation is 
fine, and that there is unlikely to be a need to modify things in the 
near future?
