I have a few questions relating to the senescence of _Rhizobium_
bacteroids in nodules. I would appreciate any info anyone can give
me ..
Is there anything that can trigger senescent bacteroids to re-enter
a state where they can fix nitrogen?
Are they killed by the plant by the time they reach zone 5 of the nodule?
Can they escape the nodule and re-enter a free-living state in the soil?
Is it possible to reisolate viable colonies from senescent bacteroids
extracted from the root nodules?
Are there any known plant signals that trigger senescence?
