A friend of mine wound up with six baby mice a while back, three boys and
three girls. They wound up as the Nucleotide Mice: cytosine, thymine,
guanine, adenine, uracil, and inosine. (The boys were RNA, the girls DNA.)
My personal favorite silly names were three compounds I ran across in a
microbial genetics class: putrescene, cadaverine, and spermidine. I don't
wan't to *know* (although I think I can guess) from what source these
compounds were first isolated.
