NUS-NCI CancerNet
-----------------

As a collaboration between the National University of Singapore
and the National Cancer Institute, Bethesda, MA, a new secondary
site for the NCI CancerNet files has been set up at biomed.nus.sg
in Singapore.

The following services are fairly stable and have been online for about
two months.

Gopher: gopher biomed.nus.sg
                  (or gopher biomed.nus.sg 70 )
and navigate to the NUS-NCI CancerNet option
The gopherd server is the modified version from
	          Don Gilbert, IUBio, Indiana University.

World Wide Web: URL: http://biomed.nus.sg:80/
and navigate to the NUS-NCI CancerNet options

The following are more recent (please send bug reports):

Mail server: Send the following message to bioserve at biomed.nus.sg

                  CANCERNETHELP

or for cn-xxxxxx files, where xxxxxx is the number of the
                  CancerNet file

                  CANCERNET
                  cn-xxxxxx

Note that the CancerNet Gopher directory can also be
browsed and the CancerNet GOPHER-WAIS be searched via
our generic mailgopher service: send email to
bioserve at biomed.nus.sg or mailgopher at biomed.nus.sg
                  with the message GOPHERHELP

WAIS: The cancernet.src is attached below.

All keywords entered are searched on "or" basis. Other
Boolean operators are also acceptable, eg. the following
                  keyword combinations:
                    cervix and treatment
   		    lymphoma not intermediate
Also, the search allows truncation eg. cervi*
which will include both the keywords cervical and cervix.
The waisindexer used is from Don Gilbert, Indiana Univ.

This waisindex is accessible from the gopher menu
(last item) as well as from the web menu.
It is of course accessible from a wais client
                  eg. waissearch, xwais, swais, etc.

If you try it, you will find that the titles of the
hits are not very meaningful, ie. only the numbers
are returned. Work is in progress.

The cancernet.src file is as follows: Edit it and cut out from
      parenthesis to parenthesis.
