Subject: Datasets
I am compiling a document on datasets available to academics for research and
teaching purposes, for use by academics in the University of Ulster. The
document
contains information on social, economic, political data, as well as the mole
cular biology service provided by yourselfs and the text archives at Oxford.
The people at the ESRC have been very informative, as have been members of
the IFDO, a group with membership covering most of the major social science
data archives throughout the world. However, I do wish that the document covers
as many disciplines as possible, and my definition of a dataset is anything
that is an input to a piece of software that may produce a output, be that a
screen display, simulation, report, graph, map, etc. The document is meant to
be a short reference doc. giving brief details of each archive and details of
how contact that archive and/or a contact at the University of Ulster. So I am
very interested in any information you can give me regarding any other data
archives for biologists, or perhaps other sciences in other countries. I am
also interested in Archives which produced teaching material for the academic
community. Hope you can be of some help!
