I just read an article on clari.tw.science about a faster genetic
mapping technique developed by Mathies and Glazer at the "University
of California" (UCSF???). Using a new machine and flourescent dyes,
it states a rate of 10,000 "segments" per hour is now possible.
Has anyone else heard more about this method? Can anyone give some
references on it? I would like to hear more about how this will be
used, and if it would change the estimated cost per base pair for the
sequencing efforts underway.

I bet the net would like to hear any more information that comes up
