It might be possible to automate FAQs to some extent. We
could get a list of keywords from users and set up an automatic WAIS
search which saves the top N messages for each keyword to a FAQ file.
One could also compose partial FAQs based on the number of responses
to a given Subject: line ("Subscribe" might be really popular under
such a system 8-). At a bare minimum it would be easy to extract
questions which prompt a lot of discussion. It would be harder to
extract the "best" response. However, if people have an idea of what
questions are asked frequently, they might then use WAIS to look up
the answers in the archives. This assumes that they have WAIS, of
course.
