Is there a genetic basis for sensoneural
hearing loss? If a woman first needed hearing aids at 40, her son at
45, and her daughter at 50, I guess you can posit a genetic pattern.
Does that mean the next generation will suffer progressive hearing
loss too? Does it skip a generation? Is there a possibility that it
can strike another generation at an even younger age (such as at
birth) or manifest itself in the form of profound deafness?
