>We are currently seeking two audiologists for positions in the Audiology
Unit at the ASHA National Office. Holly Kaplan and her family have moved to
Georgia. Holly will be working at the University of Georgia's Audiology
program. Maureen Thompson has taken a position in ASHA's Continuing
Education unit, though she currently continues in Audiology on a part-time

>The purpose of this position is to provide expert audiology consultation
on audiology policy and practice to members, federal agencies, media, and
other external publics; assist in association policy development; track and
recommend Association action to respond to relevant national trends;
recommend and plan audiology service and programs and educational product
>	1.	Gather information on issues, review pertinent literature, track
trends, and communicate issues to staff, members, consumers, and
association leadership via articles, Listserv, and presentations.
>	2.	Provide expert internal and external consultation on audiology policy
and practice to enhance service delivery, quality of care, standards of
practice, and autonomy of the audiology profession.
>	3.	Recommend the formation of and facilitate board, ad hoc, and joint
committees, and task force activities that influence and shape the
Association*s audiology policy development.		
>	4.	Advocate with related professional and consumer organizations, and
federal and state agencies on behalf of members and consumers.
>	5.	Recommend, plan, develop, conduct and evaluate ASHA-sponsored
continuing education conferences, teleseminars, and related products
pertinent to association policy and the state-of-the-art-/science of
audiology practice.
>	Knowledge typically acquired through:
>		* MA/MS or doctorate in Audiology
>		 10 years or more successful experience in practice of audiology
>		* current CCC-A
>		* leadership work in state, local, or related national associations
>	Scope and depth of technical skills/knowledge:
>		* Excellent oral and written communication skills
>		* Demonstrated ability to use appropriate computer software
>		* Evidence of professional publications in area of audiology practice or
professional issues 
>		* Knowledge of audiology and related professional issues; practices;
>	Scope and depth of non-technical skills/knowledge:
>		* Facilitative interpersonal skills
>Salary Grade Level:9 Starting range $40,300 - $50,200
