I would recommend a trip to the library which houses journals that
specifically publish information on audiology.  Your request is very
general, that being research on cochlear implants, since there is so much.
You could be reading forever.

Is there anyone who can cite a recent general review article on cochlear
inplants for Gert to start with?  I do not work with anyone with a cochlear
implant, although I try to read things as they arise.
