Cookie bite hearing aid fittings

Has anyone fit cookie bite losses successfully?(binaurally or
monaurally).
The first cookie bite loss of concern belongs to an 8 year old child
who is doing well socially, academically, according to her parents.
The loss is a bilateral mild, 1 and 2 K , primarily.
The only real concern at this point is the volume of the TV.
Our office is to give the second opinion...hearing aids were
recommended at the first facility visited.
Would anyone recommend something besides a hearing aid fitting at this
point, such as something just for TV perhaps?

The second case of concern is a woman in her 50s who teaches Biology,
and has a cookie bite loss of moderate degree, primarily at 1 and 2 K.
She refuses to try a binaural fitting, and has tried BTEs from 3M,
Oticon(Multifocus and Digifocus)...and also a Starkey A13.
Despite best counselling efforts, she still feels overwhelmed by
circuit noise, or 'crispy' sounds from perfectly functioning
instruments.
Can anyone put a different spin on this?
Is there something else that can be tried before suggesting that she
return when she is having greater difficulty?
