According to Peterson(1977), 25 to 50% of infants with CMV have reported to
have SNHL, severe enough to be handicapping in 10-25%.
Info above taken from Northern & Downs, " Hearing in Children" (3rd ed). It
is also stated that it is"the most common of the TORCH complex." Chapters 3
&7 of this text seem to have a basic overview of CMV.
I remember learning in grad school (late 80s) that many feel CMV in the 90s
will be like Rubella of the 60s.
