Plant Phenomics Facility at Washington State University is searching for a Phenomics Manager for the High-Throughput Phenotyping platform
This position is responsible for managing and operating a new growth chamber-based plant phenotyping discovery platform built by LemnaTec. The platform is aimed to provide high-content phenotypic screening for small plants and larger crop plant seedlings. The detectors in the machine include RGB imaging, Chlorophyll fluorescence imaging (PAM), photon counting (e.g. Luciferase), and 3-D scanning. This position is responsible for educating diverse plant research faculty regarding the capabilities of the equipment as well as complex data analysis to accurately capture plant physiological behavior down to the molecular level. Studies will emphasize the factors that affect plant productivity under adverse environmental regimes such as abiotic and biotic stress. The manager will interact directly with faculty, staff, and students in experimental design, scheduling, data handling, trouble-shooting and analysis. Specific essential duties are Planning and Experimental Design, Data Management including analysis/troubleshooting and data processing, and management of the PhenoCenter phenomics platform. As time permits, the position will also assist faculty using other greenhouse-based phenomics platforms in the Plant Growth Facility (http://phenomics.cahnrs.wsu.edu).
