Dear Arabidopsis community members,
I work with Verticillium resistance and I am looking for the ndr1-2 allele to complete my current work. I would very much appreciate if any one in the community would be willing to share some seeds with me. Kindly let me know at ndhar from ucdavis.edu<mailto:ndhar from ucdavis.edu> . Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Nik

Ph.D. Student Position in Plant Genetics and Molecular Biology at Oklahoma State University (OSU),
Stillwater, OK, USA

A graduate research assistantship is available immediately to a qualified student to pursue a Ph.D. degree in plant molecular biology/genetics. The student will focus his/her research effort on genome analysis of sorghum using molecular markers or next-generation sequencing, leading to the discovery of genes encoding the host plant resistance to insect pest and the validation of the gene function using the gene editing or transgenic approaches. The student may also have the opportunity to participate in related studies in the lab, using functional genomics and molecular approaches to either analyze molecular interactions between plant and insect or to identify and characterize traits affecting biomass quality and biofuel production in sorghum. The GRA position will include a competitive stipend, tuition waiver, and health insurance. Candidates with strong background in molecular biology/genetics and related research experience are especially encouraged to apply. Applicants s!
hould send resume, a short statement of research interest, transcripts, GRE and TOEFL (for international applicants) scores, and three recommendations to: Dr. Yinghua Huang, Department of Plant Biology, Ecology, and Evolution, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK 74075, USA. For more information on his research program, please feel free to contact Yinghua.huang from okstate.edu<mailto:Yinghua.huang from okstate.edu>.

OSU is a Research-Extensive University, and graduate students play a vital role in both its teaching and research missions. Over 1700 graduate students help finance their graduate education at OSU through employment as Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTA) and Graduate Research Assistants (GRA). Our students pursue graduate degrees through the M.S. Plant Biology and the interdisciplinary Plant Sciences Ph.D. Program. Application<http://gradcollege.okstate.edu/apply> for graduate programs will be completed online through the Graduate College at https://gradcollege.okstate.edu/apply. The Department of Plant Biology, Ecology, and Evolution ( (http://plantbio.okstate.edu)<http://plantbio.okstate.edu%29/>) will consider admissions for either the fall or spring semester. To be considered for Fall 2018, applications should be completed by February 28, 2018.
