Research Associate - Department of Agriculture
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB), an 1890 Land-Grant Institution, is seeking applications for Research Associate position from candidates who have demonstrated extraordinary accomplishment and promise for research in the field of plant biotechnology and genomics.
Qualifications: Candidate should hold a Ph.D. in Plant Science, Botany, Genetics, Biotechnology or a related discipline with the strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals. Prior experience with genome engineering (e.g. CRISPR, TALEN), plant tissue culture/transformation and generation and/or computational analysis of genomics datasets (e.g.RNAseq, ChiPseq etc.) is highly desired.
Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities include editing of rice and sweet potato genome for crop improvement. The successful candidate must be able to independently design and conduct experiments, interact with other researchers; teach courses and train undergraduate and graduate students in biotechnology and molecular biology and be willing to work on other projects in the laboratory. The candidate is expected to publish research results in peer-reviewed journals.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
