A postdoctoral position is available in the Vogel lab at the DOE Joint
Genome Institute in Walnut Creek, CA. The successful candidate will be part
of a large collaborative DOE funded project to develop advanced sorghum
breeding techniques. The incumbent will conduct large-scale GWAS analyses
using large phenomic datasets collected by collaborators. This is a unique
opportunity to immediately begin analyzing data already generated using an
advanced drone-based phenotyping platform. Data from 600 sorghum accessions
grown under three drought conditions was collected weekly over the course
of two growing seasons. The successful candidate will have a strong
background in bioinformatics, population genetics and molecular biology.
