gton State University seeks a postdoctoral research associate to study plan=
t innate immune sensing of danger signals during plant-pathogen interaction=
s in the Tanaka lab (http://plantpath.wsu.edu/people/faculty/kiwamu-tanaka)=
. This position offers an exciting opportunity involving molecular genetics=
 and biochemical analysis of defense responses associated with damaged-self=
 recognition systems (e.g., extracellular ATP signaling) in Arabidopsis. Ex=
perience in plant pathology is an advantage but not required. It is more im=
portant that you are highly-motivated and ready to develop the research pro=

Qualifications: Required: A Ph.D. degree in plant pathology, molecular gene=
tics, biochemistry, or a related discipline along with hands-on experience =
in plant molecular genetics, genomics, and biochemistry at the time of hire=
. Applicants should have excellent communication and organizational skills,=
 and the ability to successfully contribute to a collaborative, multidiscip=
linary work environment. Preferred: A solid track record of academic and re=
search achievement with a strong and apparent background in molecular genet=
ics and biochemistry. Experience with receptor biology would be helpful, bu=
t not essential.

Availability: The position is available February 1, 2016, and is a temporar=
y, 12 month, full-time position. Initial appointment is for one year and ma=
y be renewable dependent upon satisfactory performance and continued fundin=
g. Salary is commensurate with experience and includes medical benefits.
