This year's Arabidopsis meeting will be held in Beijing, China from June
20th to June 23rd, 2007.
Online registration is only possible through the official conference website
(www.arabidopsis2007.com <http://www.arabidopsis2007.com/> ).
However, because some people have had difficulties accessing the website,
which is hosted in China (possibly due to disruption of transmission from a
recent earthquake in Taiwan), I have created a TAIR-hosted webpage that
contains the most important information for the meeting
The page contains:
1) current meeting schedule and program
2) conference registration forms
3) hotel reservation forms
4) tour reservation forms
The page also contains information on funding opportunities for U.S.
under-represented minorities and scientists at specific minority-serving
institutions, and travel supplements for North American scientists (deadline
Feb. 28th, 2007.) If any other countries have developed mechanisms for
funding researchers to attend the conference, please contact me; I am happy
to include such information on this webpage.
NOTE: All attendees must possess both a valid passport AND Chinese visa to
enter China. Those lacking a valid visa will not be allowed to enter the
country. Acquisition of these materials may take several months so we
recommend starting the process early. Upon registration, you will be issued
a formal invitation to the meeting which may help acquire the necessary
visa. Depending on your country of residence, you may be able to acquire a
Tourist or a Business Chinese visa. Please check with the appropriate
agencies in your country for further information.
