<x-flowed>A postdoctoral position is available at the University of
Oxford (U.K.) to
work on the characterization of novel metal-ion transporters in plants using
molecular-genetic, biochemical and physiological techniques. The project
will focus on the identification of transporters for transition metals in
hyperaccumulator plants. Applicants should have experience in biochemistry
and molecular biology and an interest in ion transport and membrane biology.
This project is funded within the EU Research Training Network on "Molecular
Mechanisms of Metal Homeostasis in Higher Plants", which involves eight
partner laboratories across Europe (http://dps.plants.ox.ac.uk/METALHOME/).
Applicants should be nationals of an EU-member or -associated state other
than the U.K. The position is available from 1 April 2005 or as soon as
possible thereafter for a period of up to 21 months.
