=46ive Post-Doctoral Positions

=46ive post-doctoral positions are available in the Department of
Biology at Colorado State University to work on signal transduction
systems. The long-term goal of the work is to genetically engineer
plants to be =93sentinels=94 to report adverse environments (e.g.,
pollution, environmental monitoring, biological and chemical
terrorist agents). The work will involve collaborations with protein
engineers to computationally design optimal receptors and signal
transduction systems (cf. Nature 423:185-190), dissection and
optimizing plant signal transduction systems, and test various
designs in transgenic Arabidopsis plants. The ability to conduct
molecular biology experiments and prepare solid publications in
peer-reviewed scientific journals is required. Applications must have
a Ph.D. or will receive their Ph.D. within 6 months of their start
date. Experience in plant molecular biology, gene cloning and
analysis of transgenic plants is a positive. Successful applicants
will work in the laboratories of Drs. June Medford and ASN Reddy.
Information about the positions is available the Biology Department
web site: http://www.colostate.edu/Depts/Biology/.

Salary commensurate with experience. Positions are available
