Post-doctoral Research Associate Position in Molecular Genetics of 
Plant Nutrition.

A postdoctoral research associate working on the molecular genetics 
and physiology of plant nutrition, with specific emphasis on nitrogen 
or phosphate nutrition is available at AgriGenomics Inc. a start-up 
plant biotechnology company in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. The project 
is part of an on-going collaborative research effort to improve the 
efficiency of nutrient uptake in plants using transgenic approaches. 
The person in this position will design and construct cloning as well 
as plant transformation constructs, perform Arabidopsis and canola 
(Brassica napus) transformation experiments using 
Agrobacterium-mediated approach, and analyze transgene expression. 
Strong background and skills in vector construction and analysis of 
gene expression are required. In addition, experience in plant 
physiology and metabolic analysis of plants would be an asset. 
Preferred qualifications also include high-motivation for success, a 
good team player, and the ability to communicate effectively. Support 
for this position is for a minimum of two years and salary and 
benefits will be very competitive. Applications will be accepted
