Laboratory Manager position, University of Florida, Gainesville USA
The newly founded Laboratory of Plant Molecular Physiology, headed by Dr.
Fredy Altpeter by December 2001, is inviting applications for a laboratory
manager. Responsibilities include:
Train and supervise postdocs, graduate- and undergraduate students in
methods of plant physiology, -molecular biology, and tissue culture
Research in stress physiology, gene expression profiling, traits dissection
in transgenic monocots, greenhouse- and field testing of transgenic plants.
Laboratory logistic and safety
Intensive experience in standard plant molecular biology techniques is
essential. Experience in stress physiology, expression profiling, library
construction and plant transformation is desirable.
The annual salary is in the range of 30 000 US$ plus benefits. Non-US
residents are encouraged to apply and will be sponsored for visa. The
position has high potential to become permanent, subject to a satisfying
probation period and obtaining legal permanent residency in the US.
Projected starting time is December 2001. Gainesville is a city of 140 000
with 44 000 students located half way between the atlantic- and gulf coast
and is always rated among the top cities to live in the US.
