				The United States Patent and Trademark
Office, Arlington, VA, is seeking outstanding candidates for a Patent
Examiner position in the transgenic plant group. The appointee will join a
group of examiners who evaluate applications in transgenic plant technology.
Successful candidates will preferably have a Ph.D. or M.S. and comparable
research experience in plant molecular biology or a related field.
Experience in many different physiological systems and familiarity with a
variety of molecular techniques is desirable. Good oral and written
communication skills is essential. No intellectual property law experience
is necessary as training is provided on appointment. U.S. citizenship is
required. Salary is commensurate with experience, with starting salaries
ranging from $43,226 to $64,374, and with non-competitive promotion
potential up to $97,132. Benefits include health, life and disability
