* Arabidopsis Functional Genomics Meeting Announcement *
The UK functional genomics programme, GARNet, is organising the first of
3 annual user meetings. GARNet is funded by the BBSRC for a period of
three years, and received 5 million pounds. The meeting will take place
at the University of York, on October the 2nd and 3rd, 2000. At this
meeting the different service providers will outline service they
provide. To describe biological results obtained using different tools
of functional genomics, international speakers have been invited.
Furthermore, to give participants the chance to learn about
international functional genomics programmes several guests have been
invited, representing the American Arabidopsis Functional Genomics
Consortium (AFGC), the German programme GABI, functional genomics in
Spain, and the French programme Genoplante. The meeting programme can be
found at http://www.york.ac.uk/res/garnet/usermeet.htm.
A registration form is available at
The first GARNet service is now available: the Gene Transfer Clone
Identification and Distribution Service (GeTCID), run by Ian Bancroft.
Application forms and guidelines can be found at the GARNet website at
Other services and resources are transposon insertion site sequencing,
high copy number transposon mutagenesis, Gene transfer clone library
screening, proteomics, metabolomics and transcriptomics consisting of
both macro and micro arrays, and a bioinformatics service.
