Position:  Research Specialist

Location:  Department of Plant Pathology, University of Arkansas,
Fayetteville, AR (www.uark.edu).  Located in the beautiful Ozark Mountains,
Fayetteville combines a small, college-town atmosphere with a cosmopolitan
makeup.  The area abounds with opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts.

Qualifications: A B.S. or M.S. with experience in the area of molecular
biology is required.  Proficiency in the basic techniques of molecular
biology (PCR, gene cloning, library screening, RNA and DNA blotting and
hybridization, immunoblotting) is essential.   Desirable skills include
experience with plant transformation and plant tissue culture, basic
computer usage, and DNA sequence analysis.

Major Responsibilities:  The successful candidate will aid in research on
molecular studies of plant:insect interactions.  Primary duties will
include conducting experiments, maintaining plant cultures and plants, and
plant transformation.  Additional duties could include normal laboratory
maintenance (ordering, maintaining inventories, etc.).

Salary:  Salary is commensurate with experience.
