New recombinant inbred lines and Ds transposed lines available from stock

Two new sets of stocks are now available from the Arabidopsis
Biological Resource Center (ABRC) and the Nottingham Arabidopsis Stock
Centre (NASC). These are:

1. Recombinant inbred lines donated by Dr. Maarten Koornneef and Dr.
Carlos Alonso-Blanco. The parental strains, Cape Verde Islands and
Landsberg erecta, were used to generate 162 recombinant inbred lines.
Extensive AFLP data and associated maps have been developed for this
population and integrated with selected markers from the Lister/Dean
map. The maps and mapping data are available on the NASC and ABRC web
servers. The complete population, stock number CS22000 (ABRC) or N22000
(NASC), costs $225 from ABRC and 150 pounds from NASC. A base set of 50
lines, stock number CS22477 (ABRC) or N22477 (NASC), which have
relatively high recombination and low segregation distortion are also
available. These lines cost $80 from ABRC and 50 pounds from NASC.

2. Ds transposed lines from Dr. Dieter Soll and Dr. Karin Johnson.
Crosses between two Ac and four Ds parents were made, and progeny were
grown by self-fertilization to the F3 or F4 generation. 164 lines were
produced in this fashion. No selection against the presence of the Ac
was made in these lines. The stock numbers for these lines are N8995
(NASC; cost 120 pounds) and CS8995 (ABRC; cost $175).

Please contact ABRC or NASC through their Web ordering systems at the
addresses given below if you wish to obtain these stocks.
