Department of Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology
Yale University

As part of the creation of a new department of Molecular, Cellular, and
Developmental Biology (MCDB), we anticipate hiring faculty at the Assistant
Professor level in several areas of contemporary biological research in the
next few years. It is expected that the successful candidates will develop
an active research group, as well as interact with current MCDB faculty and
participate in interdisciplinary research and training opportunities. In
addition, the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate excellence
in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Assistant Professor, Plant Molecular Biology. We are particularly
interested in considering applicants whose research program deals with any
area of modern plant biology, with particular emphasis on candidates who
use molecular genetic techniques to address problems in plant-microbe
interactions, developmental genetics or signal transduction, but candidates
in any area of plant molecular biology are encouraged to apply. The
department has in place state of the art facilities for all aspects of
plant molecular biology, and current MCDB faculty interests in plant
biology include leaf and flower development, epigenetic control of gene
expression, signal transduction and plant physiology.

Additional information on the Department of Molecular, Cellular and
Developmental Biology and the research interests of its faculty can be
found on our web site:

Please send curriculum vitae, description of research interests and the
names and addresses of at least three referees by December 15, 1997 to:
