The closing date of application for the following position has been
extended to the end of September, 1996



The Department of Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at the
University of Idaho is inviting qualified scientists to apply for an
Assistant Professor position in the area of plant biochemistry.  This will
be a 12 month (fiscal year), tenure track appointment with a preferred
stating date of Dec., 1996.  Candidates should have postdoctoral experience
and documented research investigating physiological processes or
biochemical pathways. The major focus of the applicant's research must be
at the molecular level in one of the following areas: 1) plant
protein-protein interactions, 2) effects of pathogens on plant metabolism
or 3) regulation of plant metabolism.  The individual will be expected to
teach a fundamental course in biochemistry and develop a new graduate
course in the area of their expertise.  Review of applications will begin
on Aug. 15 and continue until the position is filled.  To apply, send a
