Postdoctoral Research Associate
The University of Arizona, Tucson

A postdoctoral position is immediately available to study the development of
novel techniques for gene characterization in higher plants, involving a
combination of marker gene expression (Galbraith et al. (1995): Methods in
Cell Biology 50: 3-12;  Sheen et al. (1995): Plant Journal 8:777-784), flow
cytometry and sorting, and  differential display/array hybridization.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in plant molecular biology, plant development,
genetics, or a related field.  Experience in recombinant manipulation of
nucleic acids is essential.  Preference will be given to candidates
experienced in the analysis of intracellular targeting of proteins or in
cytogenetics. The appointment will be initially for two years, with renewal
for a third year given satisfactory progress.  The starting salary is
$23,000.  Applications should include a Curriculum Vitae and a Statement of
