The Department of Biological Sciences of The University of Calgary invites
applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor
level in Botany.  The Department offers honours and majors programmes in Botany
as one of several areas in the Department.  The Department has excellent
facilities for research work in Plant Molecular Biology or Plant Biochemistry.
There is a high degree of collaboration between laboratories throughout the

Qualifications:  Ph.D. degree with postdoctoral experience; a commitment to
excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels; a demonstrated
ability to conduct productive research of high quality.  Individuals conducting
 research in any area of plant molecular biology or plant biochemistry are
encouraged to apply.  The successful applicant will participate in the teaching
 of undergraduate and graduate courses primarily in general botany and plant
physiology.  The salary range for an Assistant Professor is $37,400-$57,266.
The position is available July 1st, 1995.
