               Faculty Positions in Plant Biology

The MSU-DOE Plant Research Laboratory has two tenure-track faculty
positions available at the Assistant Professor level. Persons
conducting innovative research in plant biochemistry or plant
responses to pathogenic microorganisms are particularly encouraged
to apply; however, outstanding candidates in other areas of plant
biology will be seriously considered. Preference will be given to
individuals working in underdeveloped areas that show promise for
future advances.

The Plant Research Laboratory, with major funding from the U.S.
Department of Energy provides a stimulating atmosphere and
excellent facilities for research in the plant sciences. Faculty
members are jointly appointed in an appropriate academic
department. Adequate laboratory space and set-up funds as well as
continuing research support will be provided.

Applicants should have postdoctoral research experience with
demonstrated productivity and evidence of potential for independent
research. Women and minorities are particularly encouraged to
apply. To assure consideration, applications should be received by
November 1, 1994. Applications, including curriculum vitae,
description of research accomplishments and future interests, and
three letters of reference, should be sent to: Kenneth Keegstra,
Director, MSU-DOE Plant Research Laboratory, Michigan State
University, East Lansing, MI 48824. Michigan State University is
an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
