Very long transcripts

I'd like to assay the rate of repair of DNA in actively transcribed sequences vs nontranscribed sequences (in microbes and mammals the transcribed strand of theDNA is repair very rapidly). However plant transcripts are generally tiny (prob-ably this has to do with UV-resistance, as photoproducts inhibit transcription). Does anybody know of a large (at least 5 kb), actively expressed transcriptional unit, natural or artificial, in Arabidopsis?
Thanks,
Anne Britt, Section of Plant Biology, UC Davis.
