Mapping survey

Wed Sep 9 09:11:00 EST 1992

To the Arabidopsis Community:

Please note that an important mapping survey will soon be
distributed in two different ways to the Arabidopsis community:
(1) through this electronic network; and (2) by postal mail to
individuals selected from the mailing list for the Arabidopsis
Biological Resource Center at Ohio State. The purpose of this
survey is to update linkage information for incorporation into
existing databases. Some of you may prefer to respond through
email. Others may find it easier to complete the forms sent
by postal mail. In either case, please respond without delay.
Results will be used to update linkage information for visible
and molecular markers. A list of gene symbols currently used
in your laboratory is also requested. This list should include
only mutants examined in some detail. All information obtained
will be incorporated into AAtDB (Arabidopsis thaliana database
established by Mike Cherry, Sam Cartinhour, and Howard Goodman)
and AIMS (Arabidopsis Information Management System database
being developed by Sakti Pramanik and Randy Scholl). I have
organized this survey with assistance from Randy Scholl, Maarten
Koornneef, Elliot Meyerowitz, Joe Ecker, Chris Somerville, and
Mike Cherry. We look forward to receiving your response.
Regards - David Meinke
