   Another problem is that a lot of " antioxidant " reducing substance
can generate free radicals by reducing oxygen to its radical
products.  Thus, for example, homocysteine, a very strong reducing
substance, seems to be involved in atherosclerosis and another
" antioxidant " , uric acid, produces gouty arthritis.
