Free radicals in cells

With respect to Mike's comment on the role of free radicals in normal
metabolism, it could be added that a total absence of free radicals is
lethal for the cell and the organism. One of the most potent free radical
scavengers is potassium cyanide. And you know what happens when you take
KCN - instant death.
Irresponsible scavenging of free radicals is irresponsible!!
