When you lie in bed your albumin goes down because your blood is
more diluted than when you sit or stand. Also if you don't eat
properly, whatever the reason, your albumin goes down.
I don't think serum albumin provides any useful information as a
screening test for healthy adults. It is a waste of money.

Before blood tests, don't eat but maintain your normal intake of fluids by
drinking water. Be sure to sit at least 15 minutes just before blood is
drawn.
